Salim's
is a neighborhood delicatessen specializing in Middle Eastern/Eastern European/Greek
foods. Salim El-Tahch has been in the business since 1979, serving Oakland, Shadyside, Bloomfield, downtown Pittsburgh and the
surrounding vicinity. Salim's store includes a take-out deli,
catering service, and an informal eat-in dining room.
Hookah
supplies are also available. Salim's sells Al Fakher brand Tobacco as well
as Nakhla brand; also, many flavors are available. Salim's also sells
fast lighting coals and coconut shell coals.
Salim's carries a full selection of Mediterranean specialties from feta
cheese to olives, from pita bread to hard-to-find seasonings and spices.
Salim's also serves Gyros, hummus, baba ghanough, taboulee, falafel sandwiches, Greek salads,
soups, baklava and many other delicious foods are available for take-out
or to eat on location.
